Drought Conditions

On January 17, 2014 Governor Brown signed Executive Order B-29-15, which proclaimed a State of Emergency to exist throughout California due to severe drought conditions. This proclamation was continued on April 25, 2014 and is expected to continue into 2016 and beyond.

As part of the State's overall water conservation plan, the City of Orange has been tasked to reduce our overall water usage by 28%, in comparison to our usage in 2013. As you can imagine this is no small feat to accomplish while maintaining the level of service the citizens of Orange have come to expect at our many parks, sports fields and open space play areas.

Our city staff have developed a plan to meet the same water reduction percentage in our parks that we are asking our residents to achieve at home. Our comprehensive, 4 tier plan for our parks is outlined below, complete with links to each individual park and its water reduction map.
