City Compensation

City Council

  • On November 12, 2011, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 17-11, which eliminated all compensation received by City Council members elected in or after November, 2012.  
  • City Council Members do not receive health or retirement benefits.

City Manager

  • The City Manager's contract sets out all terms and conditions of employment, including term of agreement, performance review, termination provisions and compensation.  
  • The City Manager does not receive a car allowance, nor is he provided with a City vehicle.

Executive Management

  • Executive Management compensation and benefits are set forth in a resolution adopted by the City Council on an annual basis. 
  • Executive Managers pay 8.0% of salary to PERS retirement costs. 
  • Safety Executive Managers pay 9.0% of salary to PERS retirement costs.

All Other Employees & Bargaining Groups

  • View the Memorandums of Understanding  for the City's eight employee bargaining groups. 
  • Depending on the bargaining group, City employees pay the full or near full amount of the employee's share of PERS retirement costs, which ranges from 8.0% to 9.0% of salary.
