With the major concrete work completed, and the interior infrastructure construction ongoing, attention now turns to the details that are designed to help the Old Towne Orange Parking Structure blend-in with the surrounding historic architecture.
Beginning tomorrow, September 17, and continuing through late October, 170 panels will be installed by crane on the exterior sides of the structure. These panels feature brick cladding, which will match the surrounding commercial and industrial buildings, and will help the structure to fit in with the historic character of the neighborhood.
This phase of the project will occur in five stages that are scheduled over 6 weeks, and will require the use of a large industrial crane. Plans call for the first two stages of the installation to occur in sections of the property that will not impact traffic. Stages 3, 4, and 5 will require a complete closure of Lemon St. (Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5 pm) to all traffic except those trying to access their homes or businesses between Chapman Ave. and Maple Ave.
We will update you prior to the start of the start of the Lemon St. closures.
