Military Banner Program Application Process How to donate
The Military Banner program was created for the community of Orange to honor and recognize active duty military personnel that reside or have immediate family living in the City of Orange. The program is funded through sponsorships and donations which enable the purchase and placement of the banners on City lampposts. The banners have the serviceperson’s name and military branch. Criteria
To qualify, honorees must meet the following criteria:
·Active duty member of the United States armed forces; and
·Current City of Orange resident; or
·Immediate family member of a current Orange resident (immediate family = wife/husband, son/daughter, grandson/granddaughter, son-in-law/daughter-in-law)
Please note: annual verification of active duty status will be required
Process
Applications will be accepted on an on-going basis.Banners will be raised in the order that the application was received as long as there are sufficient funds in the donation account to do so.If a banner application was received prior to the installation date and there are not sufficient funds to produce and raise the banner, that application will be processed for the next installation date provided funds are available at that time.
Based on funding available, priority will be given to servicepersons who are current residents of the City of Orange.
Applicationsthat are accompanied by the banner fee of $ 120.00, will be produced and raised at the next installation date.

Donors will be recognized on the City of Orange Website
Installation
Location of the banner will be at the City’s discretion. Banners will be installed twice a year in May and November. Banners will remain up for one year and can be renewed for the banner fee. Banners will also be removed once the serviceperson is no longer on active duty status or if the banner becomes damaged. Banners will be presented to the applicant once they have been removed.
