Four major medical centers are located in Orange: St. Joseph Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), UCI Medical Center, and Chapman Medical Center. The corridor along Main Street and West Chapman Avenue that connects St. Joseph/CHOC and UCI Medical Center is beginning to attract several medical facilities as well. Main Street Medical Complex, for example, is located on the site of a former auto dealership on Main Street. Tenants include the Cornelia Knott Wellness Center, the Breast Care Center, the Oncology Center, Main Street Specialty Surgery Center, and the Orthopedic Specialty Institute. The Genetics Center is also located directly across the street and additional medical office development is under construction on West Chapman Avenue between Citrus Street & Lester Street.
