Borrow a Mobile Hotspot to Access the Internet Anywhere
A mobile hotspot is a Wi-Fi device one can use to connect a mobile-enabled device to the Internet. The hotspots are portable, and Internet service is provided. The hotspot can only be used within the continental United States. The hotspot devices are configured to ensure compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA).
Guidelines for Borrowing and Use
Borrower must be an adult (18+ years of age) with a library card in good standing.
Borrower must sign the Lending Agreement at each checkout.
Borrower is responsible for the hotspot and accessories during the lending period.
Hotspots check out for three weeks and may be renewed up to two times (contingent upon Hold requests).
Only one hotspot may be borrowed per card at a time.
The hotspot must be returned in person to staff at the Lending Services desk at the Orange Public Library & History Center or One Desks at the El Modena or Taft Branch Libraries. Hotspots may not be returned in any book drop locations. Doing so may result in borrower incurring fees for any damages.
