We recommend that visitors call ahead to verify that the History Center is open before visiting.

The physical portion of the Local History Collection is available for use when the History Center is open. All materials are available for in-library use only and are not available to check out. To verify the History Center is open, or to have materials gathered in anticipation of your visit, please call the History Center Desk. You may also call the Reference Desk to inquire about History Center hours and staff availability.

Our historical Digital Collection contains photographs, local city directories, local newspapers, and oral histories and is always available online.

Research and Digital Image Requests

The Library offers fee-based research services for obituary requests and extensive research on subjects related to the City of Orange. Please fill out a Research Request for this service.

Historical photographs in our Digital Collection may be available for personal or commercial use. Order digital copies by filling out a Digital Image Request and a Permission Form. Please plan for a minimum turnaround time of one week.
