Learn more about the history of Orange’s downtown, listed in the National Register of Historic Places and the heart of our community for more than 140 years.
Within Old Towne Orange is another historic gem waiting to be discovered: The Cypress Barrio. This special neighborhood is the heart of Latino history of Orange, and a significant engine of our City’s early economy. Its residents lived a vibrant social and cultural life, which is just waiting to be discovered by today’s visitors.
The interactive Cypress Barrio Virtual Tour will bring this history to life. Experience the daily life, neighborhood businesses, military service, festivals, and neighborhood schools of the residents who called the Barrio “Home.” Among the many special points of interest on the tour is the not-to-be-missed Emigdio Vazquez mural.
We invite you to take a “bite” of this unique, but vital, slice of Orange history with the Cypress Barrio Virtual Tour.
