#PlantWildflowers BioBlitz (All ages)

You're invited to participate in the Orange Public Library #PlantWildflowers BioBlitz!

During May 9 – 14, observe and take photos of plants, insects, and animals in our specially created patio garden* at the El Modena Branch Library or any Orange County wildflower garden, then upload your photos and observations to the iNaturalist website or app, available from the Apple App store or Google Play App store.

*Note: The patio garden at the El Modena Branch Library will be open for a limited time only from 11:00 am – 4:30 pm daily, during May 9 – 14 for our #PlantWildFlowers BioBlitz project.

The Orange Public Library #PlantWildflowers BioBlitz aims to explore and celebrate our local ecosystems by recording photos and observations of the wildflowers and pollinators at the core of so many healthy ecosystems. By focusing on the flowers themselves, and the insects and animals they attract, we'll discover the interconnectedness of all the creatures in our amazing ecosystems right in our own backyards and neighborhoods.

How to Participate:

  1. Sign up for a free account at www.iNaturalist.org.

  2. Find the Library’s BioBlitz project by searching #PlantWildflowers Orange Public Library on the iNaturalist website.

  3. Visit the patio garden from 11:00 am - 4:30 pm daily at the El Modena Branch Library (380 S. Hewes St.) or find a local garden featuring wildflowers in Orange County.

  4. Observe the plants, insects, and animals, and take photos.

  5. Upload your photos and observations to iNaturalist.
