2021-2029 Housing Element Update
The City’s General Plan establishes a long-term vision for growth and change in the community. The Housing Element is one of the seven elements required by the State to be included in the City's General Plan. The Housing Element is a required component of the General Plan and guides future decisions regarding housing, goals, policies, and programs. It is required to be updated every 8 years by the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). This update is the 6th Cycle Housing Element update and will plan for the period from 2021-2029. The Housing Element provides the primary policy guidance for housing for the City’s decision-makers crafted to address housing opportunities and needs for present and future residents.
