Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the public may address the City Council on any agenda item before or during Council's consideration of the item, and on any other matters within the City Council's jurisdiction. There are three ways for members of the public to submit comments:
Comment in person
- Members of the public can provide in-person comments at the meeting.
- Complete a speaker card located by the entrance to the Chamber and give the card to the City Clerk prior to the start of the meeting
- Public comments are limited to three (3) minutes per speaker
Submit a written comment using eComment
- Your comments are important to Councilmembers. The eComment feature on the City's agenda page will transmit your comments to all City Councilmembers immediately.
- To submit written comments using the eComment feature, please visit the City’s Meeting Calendar page and then click the eComment link for the council meeting date.
- Please submit written comments no later than 3:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting to ensure that your comments reach the City Council prior to the meeting.
- All written comments will be provided to the Council for consideration, posted on the City’s website, and compiled as part of the record.
- Written comments are not read aloud at the meeting.
Comment by leaving a voicemail message
- Members of the public can record their comments by calling (714) 744-2234 no later than 3:00 p.m. on the day of the City Council meeting
- Recorded messages will not be played at the meeting, but will be provided to the Council
